Fractal Noise Nebulae
--------
I've been asked a few times how I made the Nebula effect (like in the picture
above!) in Inspire so here's how:
First in Modeller create a large sphere about 1 to 2 KM. It doesn't
have to be too High poly, about 30 segments should do nicely. Now give it
a surface name of whatever you want really, Nebula works fine for me!
That's about it for modeller so use the Put command to load it into Layout.
First off you want to use a Fractal noise texture as the Main surface
texture. So select the T button by Surface Colour in the Surfaces
Panel. Now select Fractal Noise from the Drop Down box. Here are the
settings I used.
I only show the settings that I've changed, all others remain at there
default settings.

You want to use a smoothing of about 89.5.
For a better effect you'll want a Lens flare somewhere in the picture, or two
maybe :) I put one blue point light in the top right of the image and
rotated it slightly (Light Settings panel).
That is really about all there is to it. You'll have to rotate the
sphere to get the nebula just how you want it.
